What is GSM?

Towels are classed depending on the amount of grams per square meter of cotton they have. For example 700 gsm has 700 grams of cotton per square meter of towelling. The best towels are made from cotton and other natural fibres and as they last longer, shed less and dry better.

Quality bath linens are made from combed long staple cotton and the surfaces are either sheared or looped. Looped towels are more absorbent.

What is Lenzing Modal?

Modal is a natural fibre made from Beechwood. It is extra absorbent proving to be, on average, 50% more absorbency than cotton. By adding Modal to the cotton, towelling is silkier, softer, more absorbent than looped cotton and will only get better wash after wash. It really is the King of Towels!

At THE LINEN BOX we are proud to stock 650 gsm Cotton / Modal towels. Along with the 650 gsm Cotton / Modal blend. We also stock a complete range of 100% cotton towels ranging from 450 gsm to 700 gsm. Towels that are suitable for any situation and lifestyle.

It is recognised in the trade that most customers love their soft, luxurious, pure white towels and THE LINEN BOX stocks white towels in 500 gsm, 650 gsm and 700 gsm, but that’s not to say that colour has its place.
